“In a suburban area there are never a shortage of shops, many of whom are apt to get you in and out with little attention to any particular detail you may ask about on your vehicle. I have gone to Tuffy Aurora for about a year and every single time I have hit there service desk with some sort of goofy special request: take off this zip tie and put on my metal band for this boot, loosen a couple bumper bolts, check this, make a note about that. Every time without fail they have checked these things and made notes, pretty much always free of charge. My experiences with other shops near me is that, if the person up front does happen to listen to you long enough to know what you are talking about, they almost never pass any notes or info on to the service person. Often, they will tell you they checked something and then never did. Firestone in the same neighborhood has told me on 3 different occasions they would inspect my rear drum brakes and then never bothered to, even though they assured me they did. If these guys say they will do something, they will do it right. If you go there 4-5 times they will know you by name. They won’t charge you for anything you don’t need. If you own a car and need a mechanic, nothing is more important than knowing the person working on your car is honest and knowledgeable. These guys are both, and if they run across an issue they aren’t knowledgeable on, they will recommend a local shop that is rather than sell you on something you don’t need. They deserve your business- go for it!”
